Trading carcinogens for cost-effective health

My name is Dave, and I am a slave. . .  to tobacco.

I am a new and eager student in the 'e-smokes' realm.

I expect that I won't be giving up my nicotine fixes anytime soon, unless the cancer-causing chemicals in the tobacco I have smoked with 'government blessing' (read: taxes) for 37 years finally take their toll on me in that kind of way. Now, I won't have to 'quit' at all, it would seem, thanks to the geniuses who have finally come up with an alternative delivery system that works for me, the e-cigarette.

I am a poor man partly because of the cost I've endured from tobacco purchases through four decades and the Canadian taxes I continue to pay for the privilege to smoke in this country. That is to say nothing of the fact that those same governors now blame me (and smokers like me, of course) for harming the health of my family, my friends and people I don't even know because of second-hand and third-hand tobacco smoke blown to the environment in my 'weakness'. I am, too, relegated to the outdoors to enjoy my public habit.

I am commited to bringing the electronic cigarette forward as a public policy alternative that can be adopted by governments everywhere which may be truly interested in the health of its nicotine-addicted and health-conscious citizens, therein saving their countries and, yeah, the entire world the social and economic costs associated with approved tobacco use.

I am interested is forming a group of e-cigarette advocates respecting these matters and finding ways and means to advance this cause on a global scale. Your e-cigarette news and views are welcomed in this discussion.

Furthermore, additional posts to this blog will support having e-cigarette suppliers in lowering the retail cost of their packages so that poor people like me, who are still alive, can better avail of the opportunity to save our own lives, before it is too late. Pertinent to this discussion would be a cost-comparison between the per-pack cost of carcinogenic tobacco vs. equivalent draws (inhalations) available from e-cigarettes and e-cigars. Those already using the technology would know. Me, I am still a poor man, you will recall. I don't yet know.
